Amsterdam Digital Passport

Gamification Mobile App
Project Overview
Sept 2020 - Feb 2021
Amsterdam Digital Passport is a gamification app that allows visitors to discover lesser-known areas of Amsterdam, being rewarded with stamps every time they complete a task at the destination. After gathering all stamps the user receives the well-deserved Amsterdam Digital Passport and can call him/herself a 'true Amsterdammer'. The interesting part is that the activities and places highlighted in the app are added by locals living in that area, which share their stories and experiences.

User Personas

The audience A&P is targeting with this project is all Amsterdam residents interested in culture, meaningful and authentic experiences, exploring other areas of the city, while maintaining a respectful interaction with the residents and sincere interest in their everyday lives, stories and advice.

I have conducted a semi-structured interview with six residents of Amsterdam to find out what their key drivers and pain points are regarding activities and places to visit in the city and after analysing the data I have created the following two user personas.

Minimum Viable Product (MVP)

As the next step in my research process, I have defined what the main requirements of potential users are, according to previous findings and described their corresponding features in the app.

By creating an MVP I am able to test my designs before the actual development of the app, providing me with valuable feedback early on in the design process and allowing me to address any concerns right from the beginning.
